About the operation
The area of the mineral deposit is called Pedra Preta and is situated in the municipality of Rio Maria in the State of Pará, and geologically is located along the western edge of Granito Musa (1.88 Ga) in the southern region of Carajás Mineral Province. It constitutes, to date, as the most important source of tungsten found in the Amazon region.
In the early years the mining will be done using open pit bench method and then an underground system is expected, depending on the knowledge acquired from the mineralized material at the beginning of the activity. The mineral processing is mainly performed by careful crushing and concentration of difference densities using jigs, spirals and concentrating tables.
